Cathedral Holy Year Pilgrimage

Last Saturday over 400 people from this and neighbouring Pastoral Areas visited the Cathedral for the Year of Mercy Pilgrimage. For over two hours they celebrated the great gift of God’s mercy, recognising its presence in our daily lives.

Those who were not able to go last Saturday might consider going on one of the other Saturdays when other Pastoral Areas of the Archdiocese will be making the same pilgrimage. The next set of Saturday pilgrimages will be on 9th, 16th, 23rd April.

Holy Year of Mercy


The logo for the year of mercy is a very clever piece of artwork. At first glance it would seem to be a picture of Jesus, the Good Shepherd. A closer look sees, not a lamb being carried but a man. It is Jesus, the Good Shepherd, taking upon his shoulders the lost soul.
